The owners of this South Kansas City bathroom wanted their 70s-style bathroom updated and given a more masculine look.
- The old shower was completely removed and replaced with a fully custom shower.
- The original shower curtain (not shown) was replaced with sliding glass doors. The side walls were covered with 12″ ceramic tiles, and the back wall was covered in small glass tiles. The glass tile was extended into borders in the two side walls.
- The shower fixtures were replaced with oil-rubbed bronze fixtures, as were the other bathroom fixtures and the sink faucet.
- The ceiling light fixtures were replaced with more modern recessed lighting. The toilet was replaced with a sleeker, more efficient water-saving model.
- The old vanity was removed and replaced with a more modern, masculine-looking dark wood vanity, with a custom glass blacksplash to coordinate with the glass tile in the shower. The mirror and light-switch back-plates were also replaced.
- The white floor tiles of the bathroom were replaced with warm tan-colored 12″ ceramic tiles.
- Finally, the walls were painted a masculine blue to bring it all together.
